Translate this page Melbourne weatherMelbourne weather is temperate. We don't have extremes of hot or cold temperatures, however, being in the Southern Hemisphere, Melbourne's seasons are opposite to North America, Europe and most of Asia. It is often hot on Christmas Day! Melbourne has a reputation for unpredictable weather. Melburnians have a saying...that you get four seasons in one day. This is especially true during the Spring months of September to November, when rain, sun and wind are often all happening at once. What this means, however, is that you just need to be a little prepared...carry a jacket, cardigan or top with you or wear layers so that you can be comfortable whatever happens. As I mentioned before, we don't get extremes of temperature. In winter, the lowest temperature might be 10°C but that's on one of the coldest days. In summer, we get a two or three 40°C days, but not many, and there is usually a cool change to follow. We like to be comfortable, so you'll find nearly all buildings have heating and air conditioning. Melbourne seasons:
